This is by no means a unique resource, since each technical requirements book already contains a technical requirement chart. However, Joy's PDF will be an excellent on-the-go resource for students and teachers who need a quick reference while playing or teaching.

ReplyDeleteHello! What does a Formula pattern mean and why is it a separate category from the Four-Octave pattern on the level 5-9 charts?
ReplyDeleteThe formula pattern is a scale with the pattern of up - out - in - up - down - out - in - down. For levels 2-7 they are two octave formula patterns, that is, each segment of the scale is played for one octave so the entire scale has a range of one octave. For levels 8-9, they are four octaves - each segment is two octaves for a total range of four octaves. Hope that helps!
