About Chris Foley

Thank you for visiting the Collaborative Piano Blog. Based in Toronto, Canada, I'm a pianist, teacher, vocal coach, and blogger. As a Senior Examiner for RCM Examinations, I have the pleasure of traveling across Canada and the US to hear many talented musicians of all levels. At the Royal Conservatory of Music, I teach piano, vocal coaching, collaborative piano, and vocal literature. After many years of study, I received a Doctor of Musical Arts Degree in Piano Accompanying and Chamber Music from the Eastman School of Music in 1994.

I'm also honored to be a member of the Studio Company at Tapestry New Opera, where I'm involved in the creation, rehearsal, and performance process of many new works for the opera stage. In the summer of 2010, I was Tapestry's first Leadership Legacy Intern, where I learned the finer points of programming, finance, development, marketing, publicity, and educational outreach.

Over the last few years, I've also adjudicated numerous festivals, including the BCRMTA Competition, the ORMTA Provincial Competition, the Vancouver Academy of Music's Senior Secondary Competition, the Davenport Festival, the Windsor Kiwanis Festival, the Royal Conservatory Festival, the Davenport Festival, and the Rotary Music Festival in Whitehorse, Yukon.
