This Sunday, November 23 I'll be playing celeste in the Esprit Orchestra for Valentin Silvestrov's Dedication for Violin and Orchestra. Marie Bérard is the solo violinist with Alex Pauk conducting. Dedication has two keyboard parts in the orchestra, and the piano part is played by Stephen Clarke. (Stephen will be a featured soloist with the Esprit Orchestra in early 2009 when he plays the Unsuk Chin Double Concerto with percussionist Ryan Scott on February 6.)Also on the program is John Adam's Short Ride in a Fast Machine, R. Murray Schafer's Dream Rainbow, Dream Thunder, and Aaron Copland's Piano Concerto with pianist Andrew Burashko. The concert starts at 8pm in the Jane Mallett Theatre. Tickets are $32/$24/$15.
