For Those Weary of Excessive Page Turns in Ensemble Finales
Kim Witman on the WTO blog has a great rehearsal hack for repetiteurs playing ensemble finales-- you know, the kind that have 16 moving vocal lines, the piano reduction at the very bottom, and only a few bars per page, resulting in a page turn every 4.3 seconds. See if you can figure out her shorthand for the Rossini L'Italiana in Algieri Act I finale, which gets rid of 28 page turns.
