Franz Schubert's version of Erlkönig isn't the only setting of Goethe's dark poem. There are a number of other settings by composers such as Reichardt, Loewe, Wolf, and Zelter. More recently, the German band Rammstein has reinvented both Goethe's words and its musical setting in the song Dalai Lama, which takes place on an airline flight. For those of you that need an English translation of the German lyrics, you can find it here.
