The Government of Ontario Launches

Whether or not you work in the arts in Ontario, you might want to avail yourself of the resources of the Government of Ontario's website. I'm not exactly sure if this site is recently launched (as an email this morning loudly trumpeted), redesigned, or graduated from beta, but it will prove to be an important resource for the arts community. Even though the site also has sections for Media Arts, Visual Arts, and Writing/Publishing, I couldn't help but take a good look at the Performing Arts section, which encompasses Theatre and Performing Arts, Music and Sound Recording, and Dance.

Among the various subsections of the Performing Arts section, a number of resource links stand out, among them the Al and Malka Green Artists' Health Centre at Toronto Western Hospital, the Toronto Musicians' Association Self Employed Tax Guide, the Canadian Arts Presenting Association, and As long as the Ontario Ministry of Culture maintains and adds to the resources already listed over the coming months and years, this site should prove to be a first-rate clearing house for the many services available to those that work in this growing sector of the economy.
