The Castleton Festival was inaugurated in 2009 by Artistic Director Lorin Maazel. The orchestral program and symphonic concerts were among the most successful and popular elements of the Festival and will be expanded substantially for 2010. The Festival Orchestra will provide players for more than a dozen fully staged opera performances, which remain at the heart of the Festival program, as well as four symphonic concerts and several reading sessions as part of the Lorin Maazel Conducting Master Class program.
